The 12th Sharda Rog Nidan camp was organised under the aegis of Akhand Ayurved Dham at Tarun Pushkar here on Wednesday. Free medication was provided to the mentally retarded people in the camp. MP Human Rights Commission President Justice DM Dharmadhikari was the chief guest of the function.
Justice Dharmadhikari on the occasion said, "Medication of mentally retarded people is very difficult. Social organisations should undertake such works in association with the families who have such mentally retarded children".
Justic Dharmadhikari further said, "Every individual is precious even though the person is mentally retarded. In one of the recent researches it has been established that sex identification sonography affects child's mentality. Pregnant women should be conscious about this situation. It is sad that there is less medication for the mentally retarded people. Electric shock as a treatment procedure is not much helpful.
Speaking on the occasion Chandra Shekhar Vaidya said that Ayurved would be better option for the treatment of such people. "The state administration should examine the Ayurvedic medication provided by him, he added. He said that children whose parents use alcohol and smoke very often are more prone to the disease.
