Make society free of addiction

Bhopal, Feb 5: A painting competition was organised by Shanti Niketan De-addiction and rehabilitation centre at Manas Bhavan with the purpose to give message in the society along with children about the harmful effects of addiction.

The competition was conducted in two groups. In the first group, children of the age group of 8 to 12 years participated whereas in the second round, children of the age group of 13 to 15 years took part. In all, 50 children attended this painting competition. The organiser of this competition Jaya Sharma who is the President of the Shanti Niketan De-Addiction and Rehabilitation Centre informed that the purpose of this competition is to create awareness about the serious diseases developed because of addiction and their consequences among children. She said that they conduct such programmes in different institutes from time to time. Doctor Pritesh Jaimini of the Centre was also present on this occasion.

There are prizes for the children securing positions in the competition. They would be honoured with mementos.

In the competition, children made paintings on topics related to addiction like liquor, opium, brown sugar, charas, Ganja. These children made beautiful and expressive paintings proving that they are fully aware with the side effects of addiction.

Bhopal Feb 5: The platform of matchmaking convention is proving to be very helpful to the parents of the marriageable girls and boys. People come from distant places to participate in the programme where they get an opportunity to know each other and select their life partner. Matchmaking convention can be called a very fine platform for arranged marriage. Considering its usefulness every society arranges for these types of programmes. Kunbi community's matchmaking convention was arranged in Dhanwantari Park in which 50 girls and boys participated of which 15 were boys and 35 constituted girls. This was Kunbi Community's 12th programme. People coming from different districts of M.P. took part in it. One of the participants form Chhindwara Jyotsna Mahele says that marriage is a lifelong relation so a prior thought is required before choosing life partner. As a wrong decision can destroy your life. She wants her life partner to be a man enriched in thought and be very understanding. It would be better if her to be husband is a businessman.

According to Sheweta Sargade a B.ed her choice includes a person who has self-respect and has a confidence to build his career on his own. Business or job is secondary to her. She prioretises hard labour. Rajesh wants a cultured and tolerant girl who by virtue of her qualities can take care of the family. According to him along with the consent of the family one's choice is important, as it is the couple who have to lead life with one another. So keeping in mind the approval of his parents he would select a girl of his choice. Deepak would choose a girl who is understanding and can adjust in any circumstance. Matchmaking convention is a platform where he has got opportunity to choose a girl of his choice and he hopes he will get a girl of his choice.
