Narmada Valley Development Minister Nagendra Singh has said that Narmada water would soon be made available through Bargi dam to Satna city which is facing drinking water problem. Efforts in this connection are continuing on a warfooting and he himself is monitoring the progress of the works. Singh said this on the occasion of Bhumi Pujan of Dureha-Parasmania road and inspection of sub-health centres at villages Pasi and Reechhul villages in Satna district.
Singh also said that the state government has taken drinking water problem of Satna city with all seriousness and has issued instructions to officers to make alternative arrangements for providing drinking water to people. Water should be drawn to Satna from any distance and at any cost. It may be mentioned that due to scanty rainfall during the last two years Satna district's urban as well rural areas are facing acute potable water problem.
The Minister said that road communication facility had become a daunting task in Parasmania area of the district since it was hilly area. The state government has took the responsibility of constructing two important roads in this hilly terrain with a cost of about Rs 18 crore. After construction of these roads, 86 villages would be connected to mainstream. The minister also assured the people to get the work of Kalluwa Kachhar dam started within one month.
