4 murders in 24 hours in Indore

Indore, Feb 3: The commercial capital of Madhya Pradesh, Indore, has also become the crime capital of Madhya Pradesh, if one takes into account the recent spate of crimes reported in the city in the recent past. The incidents of rapes, murders, thefts and loots have become order of the day and the city police are finding itself in a fix to put a curb on deteriorating law and order situation.

The city people who were was already shaken by spate of three murders in the past 24 hours, on Sunday too woke up to a ghastly news of murder of a woman. Her body was recovered by Lasudia police in the wee hours of Sunday morning from behind Madhuban Dhaba on Agra-Bombay road.

According to report, the Lasudia police were informed about the body of a woman lying behind Madhuban Dhaba on the AB Road at 3.30 am on Saturday. Soon after receiving information, a police team led by CSP Bittu Sahgal and Lasudia TI Sanju Mule arrived at the incident site and found body of a woman with half of her body covered in a gunny bag lying behind the above-mentioned Dhaba.

The identity of the body was established only at 6.30 am on Sunday morning. The body of the deceased was identified by her son Baldev. Police said that body was identified that of Manjeet Kaur (45), wife of late Bhagya Shree, a native of 651- Nai Basti, Niranjanpur. The deceased is survived by two sons and two daughter-in-laws.

The deceased's sons told police that their mother quiet often used to go out of her house. On Saturday she left her house at 9 am and had not returned till late Saturday night and the deceased's family members came to know about her death only on Sunday morning.

Police suspect that the deceased might have been murdered somewhere else and thereafter her body was thrown out of a moving vehicle. With the latest murder, a total of 4 murders were reported in the city in the past 24 hours which included rape and murder of a 10-year-old girl. In the past one month, the city has been rocked by over a dozen murders.
