Consumers to get power as per demand

Bhopal, Feb 3: The state government has started working as per a far-sighted strategy to supply power in a correct way to all the consumers living in various parts of the state. Accordingly. With this in view the state government is all geared up to consolidate the power transmission system within 300 days. Rs 475 crore would be spent on these works. The most important aspect of this strategy is that qualitative changes are also being made in the power transmission system in keeping with the ever-increasing demand of power. After completion of this work people would not have to face power failures and interruptions.

The state government has taken the responsibility unto it to set the power distribution system as per people's expectations. The state government is in no mood to brook any laxity in this work and therefore set a deadline of 300 days for its completion. Under this programme four 220 KV capacity sub-stations each at Sidhi, Mandideep, Pipariya and Barod would be constructed. The work for Rs 91 crore work has been started and is progressing at a fast pace.

Similarly, after exact assessment of demand and supply 12 new sub-stations of 132 KV are also being established in the state. These include Khajuraho, Porsa, Katra, Mauganj, Byohari, Benigaon, Chanderi, Majhgawan, Ghosla, Nainpur, Chhanera and Ghairatganj. It has also been decided to install additional transformers at the present 18 problem-infested sub-stations to ensure uninterrupted power supply. Rs 169 crore would be spent on both the works that is establishment of new sub-stations and installation of additional transformers at existing sub-stations.

This responsibility has also been included in the 300-day deadline that 400 KV power lines be extended in 29.4 circuit kilometre area. Not only this, but a net of 220 KV electricity lines would also be spread in 577.76 circuit kilometre area. The work has already got underway at a cost of Rs 214 crore.

The work of improving the power transmission system has been taken in the hand in a well-planned way. First a survey was undertaken to find out requirements and problems at the regional levels. Shortcomings were minutely observed and keeping future requirements in view Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Energy Minister reviewed the work plan and entrusted the work to concerned companies with the instruction to complete it within 300 day. Chief Minister and Energy Minister are also keeping a constant watch over progress of the work.

LIC enters health insurance sector

Bhopal, Feb 3: Insurance giant, LIC is entering health insurance business with the launch of "Health Plus" on February 4 across the country to provide health benefits to all people in the rural as well as urban areas, a top company official said today.

"Health Plus policy is unique in its kind providing health benefits to entire family (husband, wife and children) in one policy and provides daily hospital cash benefit, ICU expenses, major surgical benefit and domiciliary treatment benefit," said regional manager (marketing) Ranbir Dutt at the regional office.

He said since it is a unit-linked product, it allows investment of surplus funds in capital market, giving health benefits and capital market gains. He said a person paying Rs 15,000 yearly premium for his family can claim tax benefits under secti on 80d and can avail major surgical benefits of Rs 5,00,000 per member along with hospital cash benefit of maximum of Rs 2500 per day. During the term of policy, this benefit shall be available for 365 days for each member.
