Keeping in view importance of technical education, the state government is going to increase Annual Plan Outlay for industrial training by Rs 4.31 crore per annum from the year 2008-09. It has been the result of positive efforts during the last four years by the state government that the industrial training's Plan ceiling which was fixed at just Rs 62 crore during the Tenth Five-Year plan has been increased four times to Rs 227.06 crore for the 11th Five Year Plan. Thus, Rs 165.76 crore increase has been made in the new Five Year Plan. It may be mentioned that at present 17 thousand youths are being imparted training at 151 institutions in Madhya Pradesh.
For the year 2008-09 Plan outlay to the tune of Rs 40.58 crore has been allocated. Schemes have been prepared for spending this amount in a well-planned way.
Accordingly, Rs eight crore would be spent on the construction of buildings for industrial training institutes. Rs 4.75 crore would be spent on Mini Industrial Training Institutes for continuing smooth training arrangements for various trades. Appliances and equipment would be purchased at a cost of Rs 3.88 crore. For computerisation and networking of various offices for directorate-level training Rs 10 lakh would be spent. A separate fund to the tune of Rs 3.50 crore has been allocated for computer training to the youths belonging to scheduled caste and tribes.
Out of the allocated funds, Rs 2.25 crore would be spent on Rural Engineering Scheme. Rs 3.99 crore and Rs five lakh would be spent respectively on job-oriented training and establishment of Madhya Pradesh Council of Vocational Education and Training. Not only this, but the state government taken the responsibility of improving industrial training centres as Centres of Excellence during the year 2008-09 and Rs 3.75 crore would be spent on this scheme.
Similarly, Rs 3.50 crore would be spent on the establishment of Dr Ambedkar Industrial Training Institutes for the girl and boy students belonging to scheduled castes and tribes in Sehore and Morena districts.
