The state government has sanctioned Rs 65.11 lakh for the construction of new jails. From this fund, new jails would be constructed at Anup Pur, Burhanpur, Bhind, Shahdol and Dewas.

Under the perspective plan, Rs 14.15 crore has been sanctioned for improvement work of 28 jails and constructing new barracks there.
