The Bharatiya Janata Party's National Council meeting was important in many ways. The party has tried to give the message that it is in a mood to giving more opportunities to women by reserving 33 per cent seats for them in different bodies of the organisation. The new system which has been sanctioned by the party would be implemented within three months. During the three-day National Council meeting some new things have emerged. Specially, in this meeting the leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha, Lal Krishna Advani was projected as coming Prime Minister. Though it was announced earlier but the party council recommended it in the meeting. In the coming Lok Sabha elections, the party has given its consent to make Ram Setu an issue. In order to prevent splitting of Hindu votes, the party has not left the Ram Mandir issue totally. Advani is recognised as a firebrand Hindu leader and he is not considered as liberal as Atal Behari Vajpayee. Though he has tried to tread gradually towards liberal attitude. But it is something different to be as liberal as Atalji. Most important thing is that Gujarat Chief Minister, Narendra Modi is ahead of all of the leaders now. BJP national president, Rajnath Singh told the other Chief Ministers where BJP led governments are in saddle, that they should take some lessons from Modi. He said that they should prove themselves up to people's expectations and romp back to power. The image of Modi was disputed till the assembly elections were over. He faced allegations of Godhra and Tandoor issue which were not easy to solve. He had been criticized at party and organisation level too. He was marginalized so to say. But, after the resounding victory of BJP in Gujarat he has emerged as the best leader. His image is counted equal to Advani and Rajnath Singh. Now, it is clear that the party has decided to come into arena of Lok Sabha election with the help of Ram, saffron image of Advani, development focus of Modi and his Hindu image.
