Taking a serious note of the ruckus created by some Congress workers during the flagging off ceremony of the Indore-Amritsar train and Indore railway station here somedays back and raising slogans against the BJP MP Sumitra Mahajan, the city youth Congress Committee president, Devendra Singh Yadav has suspended city youth Congress general secretary Anoop Shukla from the party for 15 days and served warning to two other youth Congress workers.
The city youth Congress general secretary Anoop Shukls along with his supporters Tejprakash Rane and Manish Modi during the flagging off ceremony of the Indore-Amritsar train at Indore railway station here on January 15, had hooted BJP MP Sumitra Mahajan and raised slogans against her as soon as she started addressing the flagging off ceremony. On the occasion, union minister of state for railway, Narayanbhai Rathwa, Congress MP Jyotiraditya Scindia and the state PWD minister Kailash Vijayvergiya were also present.
Soon after Sumitra Mahajan stood up on the dais to address the gathering, Anoop Shukla along with Manish Modi and Tejprakash Rane started raising slogans against her. The Congress MP Jyotiraditya Scindia taking serious note of the protest staged by the Congress workers, had directed Indore city Congress Committee president Pramod Tandon to take necessary action against the Congress leaders for creating ruckus.
Tandon following an instruction of Jyotiraditya Scindia, entrusted the city youth Congress Committee president, Devendra Singh Yadav to probe into the matter. After completing the probe, Yadav on Wednesday suspended Anoop Shukla from the party for 15 days finding him guilty of the railway station ruckus and served warning to his accomplices Modi and Rane for supporting Shukla in his protest.
In his probe report, Yadav said that Anoop Shukla and his supporters created disturbances in Sumitra Mahajan's speech at the behest of a particular section of the BJP. Whatever happened on that day was pre-planned and done at the insistence of some BJP leaders but than the incident has vitiated the image of the Congress party, Yadav in his probe report said adding that the party was compelled to take action against these leaders as they failed to give a satisfactory replies to the explanation sought by the party on their `acts'.
