Bhopal, Jan 31:
The spectre of board exams has started to grip students with the departure of month of January. This is the period when almost all the students are gripped by exam phobia. The problem is perennial. That is why this time round both teachers and parents have girded up their loins to guide their wards fully to save them form exam phobia. Notes of every subject have been completed. Eyes are also set on unsolved papers and model papers. In the meantime, experts have advised the students to study each and every subject as per its requirements and techniques. What students actually require, say the experts, is adoption of correct method and pattern of study before the examinations so that they can solve the exam papers easily without any tension in the exam hall.
Don't memorise, but understand
As far as possible avoid memorising the readymade answers in chemistry subject. A book gives only capsulate knowledge. Therefore, attend the classes regularly and be attentive to what is taught there, says chemistry teacher Neeta Chaturvedi. Say she, 'a student must do all the exercises given in the book carefully and solve yester years' papers attentively. While solving the old papers, students must keep the time limit in mind. All the three branches of chemistry have equal significance. Therefore, a student must not leave any subject.
Practice drawing diagram at home
In the biology paper, major thrust is on the diagram. The most common mistake made by students is that they draw small diagrams in the paper whose details are not easily visible. Students must keep in mind that they draw the diagram on full page of the answer sheet, say biology teacher JN Thakur. He says that the biggest feature of a diagram is that all the entries in it must be clearly legible. Students must also practice at home writing of answers to various important questions asked generally in biology papers so that they might get rid of loss of memory at the eleventh hour. Another important thing is making synopsis both at the time of preparation and exams. Similarly, they should describe the synopsis point by point. Students must draw the diagram of every system so that the chances of loss of memory at the eleventh time do not arise.
Understand the subject by making device list
Physics is generally known as a very tough subject but there are also tips to make the subject easy which we are giving here. These tips have been given by physics teacher Avdhesh Naik. He said that students must go through the sample papers carefully since 15 percent of the questions are repeated from the sample papers. Summary should be made of every subject. Similarly, devices of every subject should be made separately and then the subjects should be understood and solved accordingly. Students must also try to set questions themselves and the write down their answers as practice. The pattern of chapters remains fixed. Therefore, the students must minutely observe as to which diagram or numerical would be asked in this year's exams. They must also go through the question papers of last five years to get a better idea about the coming paper.
Now do practice only
Now the examinations are so near that not much time has left for going through refresher's course or books. Therefore, students must do more and more practice so that their performance is augmented. This would increase their self-confidence. These thoughts were expressed by maths teacher Ms Renu Shrivastava. She said mostly subject like probability, integration and 3D trouble the students. Therefore, students must not waste time if these subjects are not apprehensible for them and concentrate more on the subjects, which seem easier to them.
