BHEL gets Rs 48 cr TNEB order

Bhopal, Jan 31: BHEL has received an order for 4 nos. 240 MVA 1 phase 420 KV Generator Transformer worth Rs 48 crore from Tamil Nadu Electricity Board. The order has been received against stiff competition through international competitive bidding process and has reposed customer's faith and confidence in BHEL's design, manufacturing and testing capability for high rating 420 KV Generator Transformers.

Incidentally, this is the highest rating of 1 phase 420 KV Class Generator Transformer. BHEL has thus maintained the status of a leading Indian supplier of Generator Transformers to various domestic and overseas utilities. Successful short circuit testing of 16 nos. BHEL made Power Transformers in a string at KEMA, Netherlands and CPRI has received recognition of all the utilities.

It is notable that BHEL is involved in continuous effort for up-gradation and improvement of the design and manufacturing technologies of Transformers and in BHEL, Bhopal a new Transformer Block is under construction to double its manufacturing capacity.
