Rajiv Gandhi All Bhopal Slum Area Cricket Tournament would be organised under the aegis of Jawaharlal Youth Welfare Centre and Social Research Centre, Madhya Pradesh from January 16 to 23 at Old Campion Ground, Arera Colony. It was informed by the President of Jawaharlal Youth Welfare and Social Research Centre, Madhya Pradesh Dr Mahendra Singh Chouhan here.
He said that the youths, who play cricket at Goli, Mohalla, on the road, part etc, they are being given opportunity for putting up latent talent through the cricket tournament. It would be inaugurated by the Mayor of Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) Sunil Sood on January 16 at 10 am at Old Campion Ground.
Around 45 teams of various slum areas of the city will be taking part in the championship. The winner team would be given as cash award of Rs 11000, while the sub-winner team would be given as cash award of Rs 5000. He said that the tournament would be organised in two pools. The teams, who secured position in quarters and semi finals, they would be given T-shirt. The match would be started from 9 am everyday and four matches would be played in two pools. The final match and prize distribution ceremony would be organised on January 23.
