A mass `Surya namaskar' programme has been organized here on Saturday. About 5 lakh school children and other people would attend the function and all of them will perform `Surya namaskar' and `pranayam' at a time. The main function will be organized at Nehru stadium where state education minister Laxman Singh Gaud would be the chief guest. All necessary arrangements for this programme have been completed.
Apart from the district headquarter, `surya namaskar' programme will also be organized at all the government educational institutions, hostels, panchayats and block-level. Students studying in standard vth to 12th will take part in `surya namaskar' and `pranayam'. People as well as representatives from non-governmental organizations and private educational institutions will also take part in this mega event.. In Indore, the members of nagar suraksha samitis, laughter clubs, health clubs and cooperative orgnisations will also attend `surya namaskar' programme.
District panchayat chief executive officer, Gopal Daad informed that the function will sharply commence at the Nehru stadium at 9 am. School children will reach stadium by 8 am. After reaching there, they will perform rehearsal for half-an-hour. He said the district administration has appealed to all the people in the district to gather at their nearest public places at the given time where the `surya namaskar' programme will be organized.
