Bhopal, Jan 12: When Kites decorated with beautiful figures touch skies, the heart of Kite flyer feels like achieving all desires and fulfillment of dreams. However, the fad of kite flying does not need any special moment but its passion is at its peak on the festival of Makar Sankranti. This craze starting in the beginning of the month of December achieves its zenith on the 14 January with skies full of Kites. Every Kite Flyer too, waits for this day. This festival brings the culmination of colourful dreams in the form of flying of colourful Kites. The kite, flying far in the sky displays the high ambitions of the kite flyer. On the day of Makar Sankranti, the competitions organised at various places have given new dimensions to the fad and tradition of kite flying.

The preparations for this festival are on full swing in the city. The sweets made of 'Sesame and Jaggery' to every thing spells the story regarding readiness to welcome this moment. There is special enthusiasm and craze being witnessed about the kite flying activity done by children and elderly. The markets too, are full of colourful Kites and thus, enhancing the fewer of Kite flying.

The markets of Kites get a thrust in sale because of this competition. This time too, as usual, beautiful kites yearning to touch the boundless heights of sky are ready to attract people. The attractive and designer Kites have become the centres of attraction among people.

There are kites of small size to big size in the market. The Kite seller of Saeed Kite Centre Mohammad Sifaudullah alias Nawab Bhai says ' People this time too, are looking for novelty in Kites. Children are fond of colourful Kites bearing cartoons. Those who are passionate about Kite flying also like attractive Kites. People mostly like Kites made of PVC.

According to Imran Mohammad, who is a Kite seller and fond of Kite flying says 'I very much like flying Kites and it is considered auspicious to fly kite on Makar Sankranti. I am participating in this competition since childhood. These days, beautiful Kites are available in the market. I forget everything when my Kite fly in the sky and my total concentration is on the Kite only.

Avinash Khare says ' Every festival in our country has its own enjoyment. We celebrate Deepawali by bursting crackers whereas Makar Sankrati is celebrated by flying Kites'. I fly kites on this festival a lot and this is my passion too. I get an opportunity to fly kites publicly on this festival.

According to Diwakar 'The colourful Kites flying through out the day in the air increase the beauty of sky. All types of Kites, from small to big, create a unique and wonderful show in the sky'.

Shubham says ' I always fly Kite and whenever I get time, I fly Kite. The joy of flying kite is unique on this special day. I like Chinese Kite.

Shahid also like Kites made up of PVC. He says 'I always participate in this competition of Kite flying. Winning or losing hardly matters to me but it feels great when I see my Kite flying high in the sky'.

Girls too, are not far behind in this fad of Kite flying. Although they do not participate in competitions but for the purpose of fun they go for this pleasure able activity. Mamata says 'At the time of flying Kite it feels as if I am also flying in the air. It gives me immense happiness when I see my kite attaining great heights in the sky'.
