Bhopal, Jan 12:
The scheme to provide Pattas for land-right to farmers is going to start from January 26. Governor Dr Balram Jakhar and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan would inaugurate the scheme.
State government has decided that to facilitate farmers they must be given only one Integrated Land-right and Loan Booklet in place of two separate booklets. It has also been decided to include some other vital information such as layouts of field in the new booklet. This booklet would be provided for the first time to farmers free of cost. It has been decided to distribute the new Land-right and Loan Booklet replacing two prevalent separate booklets from Republic Day, January 26. Distribution work would be completed within two months.
As per the provisions of Land Revenue Code, the new Land-right and Loan Booklets have been prepared and the Revenue Department has started the process of providing new booklets to farmers.
Commissioner, Land Records and Bandobast have got these new Land-right and Loan Booklets printed at Government Press and would be sent to all the districts before January 26. The entries in the booklets would be made by Patwaris manually. As a token, five to 10 new booklets would be distributed by the chief guest of Republic Day function on January 26.
According to instructions issued by the state government to district collectors, Tehsildar should be assigned the duty to supervise completion work of these booklets and then distributed among farmers. Tehsildars would have to submit a certificate by January 31, 2008 that all the Land-right and Loan Booklets have been distributed in the areas under their jurisdiction. These certificates would be attested by the collectors and sent to the state government.
The general responsibility of distributing these new booklets would rest with collectors and they would get this work done through Tehsildars within the set deadline and then send information of distribution along with their remarks to Revenue Department and Commissioner, Land Records and Bandobast. The state government has issued instruction to all the collectors to get these booklets and have them distributed within the stipulated deadline.
