Bhopal, Jan 12: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that a well-contemplated youth policy would be implemented in the State. He said that the state government would implement the youth policy, which has been prepared on the initiative of the youths. Chouhan was addressing Youth Parliament organised here at Ravindra Bhawan on the occasion of Swami Vivekanand Jayanti.

The Chief Minister termed the Youth Parliament held under the leadership of Vishwas Sarang as a meaningful programme. Chouhan said that a person is considered young not by age, but by his zest to work. A person who has motion by in his legs, fire in the heart and capability to oppose and stop repression and atrocities is worthy of being called a youth. He said that nothing is impossible if youths gird up their loins to work.

The Chief Minister informed that the ban on recruitment in government services has been removed in Madhya Pradesh with a view to providing jobs to youths. Besides, better facilities have been extended to teachers of various grades and those working on other government posts. Sufficient increase has been made in the pay scales and honorarium for various posts. About 1.29 lakh youths have been provided employment during the last two years. One lakh other people have also been provided livelihood by adjusting them in various schemes.

The Chief Minister said that the Global Investors Summit held in Indore would not only lead to rise in investment in the state but would also generate employment on a large scale. Chief Minister Chouhan said that Youth Policy's implementation would become easier after including some practical points in it. Chouhan expressed pleasure over Madhya Pradesh youths' inclination towards jobs in Army and said that he would undertake efforts for establishment of a training institute, which can prepare youths for employment in the Army.

Former Union Minister and presently Member of Rajya Sabha, Ms Sushma Swaraj praised the initiative of Madhya Pradesh government for chalking out the draft of Youth Policy for solving youths' problems. Programmes like Youth Parliament fill people with energy. Ms Swaraj said that there are many challenges before youths. Some of the big problems include education and employment. When youths fail to get admission in the courses of their choice despite being very talented or employment due to intense competition, they are gripped by dismay. Because of lack of co-ordination in education and employment these days, absence of able persons on various posts is being observed. Ms Swaraj said that there is need to create such a situation where a youth gets job guarantee as soon as he or she joins a course. Ms Swaraj also stressed the need to open IITs and IIMs as per the youths' requirements. She said that chalking out the draft of youth policy is a major achievement of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha. This policy would lead to solution of youths' multi-pronged problems.

At the outset, State Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha president Vishwas Sarang threw light on the programme's aim. He said that those young representatives were also invited to attend the programme who have been giving expression to creativity in various fields. Youths representing spiritualism, literature, philosophy and other fields have come to attend the programme. Youths of Madhya Pradesh would be enlightened and take guidance from their experiences.

Those who also address the Youth Parliament included state BJP president Narendra Singh Tomar, national secretary Prabhat Jha, vice-president Vijay Singh Sisodia, organising deputy secretary Bhagwat Sharan Mathur, Member of Parliament Ashok Argal, poet Kumar Vishwas, Nagar Singh and Ajay Pratap Singh. Karuna Chouhan rendered Vande Mataram. Senior leader Kailash Sarang and youths representatives coming from different districts were also present. Earlier, the guests inaugurated the programme by lighting a lamp and garlanding the portrait of Swami Vivekanad.
