Sports meet begins at MCEE

Bhopal, Jan 10: Maharishi Centre for Educational Excellence (MCEE) is organising three-day sports meet as "Gyan Yug Diwas" on the occasion of birthday anniversary of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi from January 10. Sports meets was declared open by the chief guest J Ramesh, Zonal Manager of Bank of Baroda, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh in the presence of precious gems of Maharishi Shiksha Sansthan, Director CPR TC Pathak, Director (P&A) GS Sandhu, Director Finance BM Jain, Additional Director Mehta, MIM Director Dr Ahlawat, Rao, Director Academic, MS Solanki, N Dey.

In an introductory speech TC Pathak announced that stage and auditorium would be built in MCEE Campus. The programme commenced with guru Pujan followed by lighting traditional lamp by the chief guest. He was also welcomed by the principal Ms Reeta Prakasham in her welcome speech. She correlated the excellence in study with physical fitness and also elaborated how meditation helps in stress management and for higher achievements in life.

After lightening of torch, march past was reviewed by the chief guest, first day programme witnessed many events. The prizes were presented by the chief guest for the following events, long jump, high jump, 100-meter race, shot-put, javelin, discuss throw etc.

Mayor Trophy chess, carom tourney held

Bhopal, Jan 10: Mayor Trophy Chess and Carom Championship was organised under the aegis of Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) and the championship was inaugurated by the Mayor Sunil Sood in the presence of opposition leader of BMC Ashok Pandey. The main motto of the event is to provide platform for put up their latent talent through various championships and it was organised at Acharya Narendra Dev Library, Kamla Park.

More than 110 players took part in Chess Championship and more than 140 players participated in Carrom Championship. On the occasion Sunil Sood said that Mayor Trophy is being organised along with their routine works for searching latent talents and encouraging to the players about various games. He said that various sports events (meet) have already been organised the other day as Volleyball Championship for the girls (students) of the city and they presented excellent performance in National Level Volleyball Championship.

Mayor Trophy Sports Championship is being organised with the help of various sports ortanisations of the city the also expressed gratitude to them for giving their best contribution. More games would be included in the future sports calendar. He congratulated to all the players, who took part in Chess and Carrom Championship.
