Dreaded dacoits gunned down 

Bhopal, Dec 31: Dacoit Mohan Lal Patel and his accomplice Rajkumar Singh Patel were killed in a joint operation of Madhya Pradesh Police and Special Task Force encounter on early Monday morning.

The dacoits were carrying a prize money of Rs 25,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively on their heads.

The dacoits who used to extort ransom, indulged in killing and kidnapping used to mastermind their operations in Panna and Chhattarpur districts of Madhya Pradesh and Banda district in Uttar Pradesh.

According to Abhay Singh, Superintendent of Police, Panna district, Mohan Patel and his accomplice Rajkumar Singh Patel were killed at around 4:30 am near Jhinna forest area that falls under Ajaygarh Police Station in Panna district.

They were killed in a joint operation carried away by Madhya Pradesh Police and MP Special Task Force personals, he added.

Mohan used to enjoy patronage of dreaded elusive dacoit Ambika Prasad Patel better know as 'Thokia'. The elusive dacoit is a nuisance for both Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh Police. Mohan, was involved in 14 criminal cases, which figures two murders and 12 incidence of kidnapping, loot.

Both Mohan and Rajkumar were native of Chhatarpur district.
