Samjhauta Exp stoned in Pakistan

Attari, Dec 31: A mob on Monday stoned Samjhauta Express train heading for India at Wagah village in Pakistan when it neared the Indian territory when the rail service resumed after a temporary suspension following violent protests in that country after Benazir Bhutto's killing.

Indian passengers, who were travelling by the train, said the mob pelted the stones when it was moving at a slow pace. But fortunately no one has hurt, A few window panes were broken in the stoning, said Indian passenger Nasrina.

Nasrina said that at the time of attack Pakistani security guards were in the train but they were helpless as the train was in motion.

The train arrived here on Monday carrying 116 passengers on board and returned to Pakistan in the evening with 104 people on board.
