Let's make year's last moments memorable

Bhopal, Dec 31: On the eve of New Year we have dilemma in our mind. We are happy as we are entering in to the New Year and simultaneously we feel sad as we are parting with previous year. Same kind of feelings was found in Government Maharani Laxmi Bai Girls College as former students of college were celebrated Sneha Sammelan with the present students.

On this occasion former students and professors performed various cultural programmes and activities. Lady professors of college performed Gujarat's famous folk dance that is Garba and won applause of audience on this occasion. Dr Sushma Pendharkar performed solo dance and present girl students accomplished her in between. Then the members were divided into five teams and enjoyed the Antakshari competition.

STUDENTS OF FIRST BATCH

As soon as the 1956 first batch student of college Ms Chandrakanta Jain entered into the college campus all the present students and teachers gave big claps and welcome her. Students and teachers felicitated her with garlands on the stage.

VIPs

Number of VIP personalities were witness to this programme. Institute of Excellence in Higher Education Director Dr Pramila Maini was chief guest of the programme. Haptha Begam, who was not only an old student of college but also retired professor of Arabic in this same college recited poems. Besides, senior scientist of Regional Laboratory Ms Mohini Saxena and renowned writer Manjusha Ganguly were also present on this occasion.

WOMEN'S DAY PREPARATION

Speaking on this occasion Principal Dr Pushpa Tyagi said that though Alumni organisation is very young as it established in 2003 yet organised various functions. She also added that college is going to organise programme on the Latest Legal Issues on the occasion of Women's Day in next March. In this programme college is going to invite special guest from various fields to deliver speech.
