Another accused of daylight loot held

Bhopal, Dec 31: Bhopal police has arrested another accused who was involved in the Arera Colony broad daylight looting incident in which a supervisor was robbed of Rs 1 lakh.

In the incidence, a supervisor and his son were attacked after four miscreants sprayed chili powder and looted of Rs 1 lakh. The incident took place on December 16 in the posh locality of State capital Arera Colony. The father and son were on their way to Ratibad to disburse payment to labourers of a stone quarry with which they were associated. The miscreants had fired three rounds on air from one country made revolver after both father and son challenged them.

It may be recalled that few days back, Police had arrested Rajaram Soni, resident of village Machwar, district Raisen. During interrogation, Rajaram disclosed name of others Mahesh Goswami, Lalit Soni and Basant Giri. Since then, police is on the lookout of accused.

According to SP Jaydeep Prasad, on Monday, police arrested Basabt Giri who had come to visit his uncle staying at village Macha, which comes under Pipariya Police Station of Hoshangabad district. The police have seized Rs 15,000 and a Passion bike from his possession. This was the bike, which was used by miscreants in the modus operandi.
