Rs 139 crore allotted for 23232 kitchen sheds

The Minister for Panchayat and Rural Development, Rustam Singh has asked the officers concerned to get the construction work of 23232 kitchen sheds in government schools of the state completed at the earliest. The Union Government has provided an amount of Rs 139 crore to the state of Madhya Pradesh for construction of Kitchen sheds and purchase of necessary utensils for schools under the Mid-Day Meal Programme.
Rustam Singh said that keeping in view the safety of students and maintenance of hygiene, separate Kitchen sheds are being constructed in school premises under the programme. Out of 23,232 kitchen sheds, construction work of 10, 131 kitchen sheds has so far been completed. Five districts, pioneer in carrying out construction work include - Ratlam, Raisen, Mandsaur, Chhindwara and Shajapur. So far, construction of 654, 609,630, 595 and 607 Kitchen sheds respectively has been completed in these districts. Singh has also asked to finish the work regarding purchase of utensils for schools. The Union Government has allocated funds for purchase of utensils in 57,654 schools of the state under the Mid-Deal Meal Programme.
