Heroines not paid less |
| As per Press reports -the fees for acting in Bollywood films is: Akshay Kumar Rs. 17 crores; Salman Khan Rs 15 crores, Hrithik Roshan Rs 11.5 crores and Aishwarya Rs 2.5 crores, Priyanka Rs 2 crores and Kareena Rs 1.75 crores. Yes, heroines are paid much lesser amount than heroes in Bollywood. This is just on commercial terms. Exceptionally heroines carry on films on their shoulders. Bollywood masala hit films are commercially success are cent per cent hero oriented. That is why mostly women are still treated in most films as sex symbols or show pieces like a mute dolls. Earlier, film heroines were simple dressed yet sexy- as nothing wrong in looking sexy but it should not be cheap and vulgar. Nowadays heroines wear minimum of clothes- expose their (sexy?) body and the same is accepted by the society- cine goers! But it is true that there is no match for attractive yet sexy heroines and not heroes as liked by the masses.
We cannot blame Bollywood for paying much lesser remuneration to Bollywood heroines.
It is also true that more women are now successful directors and producers too. Definitely, we need better image of our women in films too.
