Murali eclipses Shane
Warne's record |
| Muttiah Muralitharan has achieved a remarkable feat in Test match cricket. He is now the highest wickettaker in Test match cricket having surpassed Shane Warne's record of 708 wickets in Test matches. Although Murali's bowling action has been under the scanner, he remains an outstanding and a prolific bowler in both forms of the game and more so in Test matches. Murali's 709th Test match wicket was that of Paul Collingwood. It is likely that Muralitharan's world record would stand for many years and would possibly never be broken.
