UNPA to form next govt

Indore, Dec 4: The national president of the Indian National Lok Dal, Omprakash Choutala here on Tuesday said that constitution of the united Third Front is the only option to give a sustainable and viable government at the Centre as the people in the country have got fed up with both the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Talking to mediapersons in the city where he had come in connection with a private function, Choutala said that efforts were underway to constitute a United Third Front by amalgamating regional parties into its fold and the Front in all likelihood will form its next government at the Centre.

Replying to a question, the INLD president said unlike the past, the new Third Front named as UNPA will be more stable as it will comprise of the regional parties of the country which are more in touch with the common people. Choutala hoped that the new Third Front will come into shape before the next Parliamentary elections.

On the Congress-Left parties row over the Indo-US nuclear deal, he said that it was unfortunate to learn that Prime Minister of the country in an attempt to save his chair, buckled under the Left parties' pressure, keeping aside the nuclear deal. Talking about the Nandigram issue, Choutala said Nandigram may not bring about changes in the fate of West Bengal government but he was happy for the fact that concept of SEZ in the country will fizzle out as going from the experiences of Nandigram, farmers in the country were not going to give an inch of its land for the SEZ. Choutala alleged that the Congress government in the name of SEZ, purchased land from the farmers at throwaway prices and sold it the industrialists for real estate development.

Replying to a query, the INLD leader said that Bhajan Lal's move to form a separate party in Haryana will not have any political ramifications in the state, though it will surely affect the Congress party following switch-over of some of the Congress leaders of the state to the new party.

Taking a dig at the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre, Choutala said people in the country are quite fed up with the present government at the Centre. People of all castes, creed and religions have virtually got disillusioned with the present regime which is breeding corruption, poor law and order position among others.

When his attention was drawn towards dumper controversy in MP involving CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Choutala was of the view that the CM should tender his resignation only after charges against him are proved in the court. Talking about his party's activities in Haryana and elsewhere in the country, the leader said that he will be visiting various states' capitals in the coming months and will hold rallies to create political awareness among people for the formation of the Third Front.

Haryana's ex- CM however had a lot of praise for Indore which according to him had changed a lot during the past 10 years. I have experienced a very positive change in Indore. City's roads have improved, new and beautiful buildings, shopping malls have come up. Besides business activities in the city have witnessed a boost with many new industries coming up in the city, he added.
