'Hockey gave me recognition'

Bhopal, Dec 4: Mecca of Hockey, Bhopal is all set to get one more stylish player of the game. This emerging player is Mubeen-ur-Rehman, who has played National thrice and has been part of Indian team camp twice.

On several occasions he has shown his stick work. He played against Oman, participated in Liberal Hockey and went Pakistan to take part in Friendly Tournament.

Be shown glimpses of his talent way back in 1996-97 in School National. On the basis of that performance he was selected for Open National Team in 1998, '99, 2000, '03 and '04.

Eldest son of a contractor father, Mubeen listens attentively to experts in order to improve his game. Twice he attended Indian Hockey Federation Camp. AK Bansal of Mumbai encouraged him to work on his technique and advised him to join Air India National Academy. This humble player says, 'Whatever I am today that is because of hockey. It gave me recognition.'
