St Joseph's Convent School, Idgah Hills, Bhopal won the girls final of Inter School Josephite Basketball Tournament, which concluded on Monday. The final, which was one-sided affair, saw the host trouncing St Joseph's Convent, Sambalpur by 84-4.
In the closely contested in final of boys group, Asha Niketan Higher Secondary School for Deaf, Bhopal defeated St Joseph's Convent, Sambalpur by 25-23. Dharana Shrivastava and Sumit Jaiswal, both from Bhopal were declared best players in girls and boys sections respectively. The students of St Joseph's Convent, Bhopal presented a colourful cultural programme on the occasion. The president of Bhopal Division Cricket Division Association and the Chairman of Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation Dhruv Narayan Singh was the chief guest of the programme.
He announced holding of an Inter School Girls Basketball and Volleyball Tournament shortly to encourage girls in sports. The School Principal Sister Francis Joseph presented souvenir to Dhruv Narayan Singh and prominent sports person Sazid Noor Khan.
