Narayanasamy targets BJP govt on power front

By Our Staff Reporter

Bhopal, Dec 4: Congress General Secretary and Madhya Pradesh in charge V Narayanasamy today alleged that the state's Bharatiya Janata Party regime was being lenient to industrialists vis-a-vis power bills recovery while it was being strict when it came to farmers who were receiving ''inflated'' bills.

''The administration lends a deaf ear to peasants who do not have adequate electricity for irrigation. The industrialists owe Rs 3,200 crore to the State Electricity Board. The regime's policies are anti-ryot,'' he said while addressing a public meeting at Pipalgon in Khargone Lok Sabha constituency that is witnessing a bypoll.

Alleging that the government paid scant heed to poll promises during its four years in power, Narayanasamy added that three chief ministers successively came to power courtesy a battle for the chair.

Union Minister of State for Agriculture Kantilal Bhuria and Congress State President Subhash Yadav also drummed up support in the party's favour. Earlier, the leader trio demanded Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's resignation over the controversial dumper purchase case. They wanted to journey from Kasrawad to Pipalgon in a dumper but were not permitted by police. The leaders staged a brief sit-in as a mark of protest and then went by car.

According to Prof RG Chouksey, Joint Director, PSSCIVE Bhopal, the Institute is doing commendable job in assisting the Union Ministry of HRD in the area of Vocational Education and Training. The UNESCO-UNEVOC International Centre, Bonn, Germany has awarded the institution with UNESCO-UNEVOC Centre Award-2007 for its proactive services in furthering the UNESCO goals in technical and vocational education and training, he added.

The committee committed its report and the then President of the Staff Association Prof SK Goel was transferred to Regional Institute of Education, Bhopal, which was one of the recommendations of the Committee.

He said that the members of the staff association were making baseless allegations against the Joint Director and as a result, the NCERT, New Delhi recently had constituted another fact-finding committee under the leadership of Prof Savita Sinha, Head, DESSH, NCERT, New Delhi who refused to conduct fact finding as there is no substance on complaints. Prof MS Khaparde, Head PPMED, NCERT has also refused to work as chairman of the fact-finding committee based on the above facts, he added.
