Kolkata, Dec 1:
The Indian Cricket Board is worried over the fact that new coach Gary Kirsten would not be available "full-time" for the tour of Australia later this year.
Kirsten has said that he would be able to join the team only after the second Test as he has prior committments around Christman and the New Year.
"Gary will let us know in a week's time when he will be able to join us. He has indicated that he will not be available full-time for the Australian tour but will keep visiting the team off and on," BCCI Vice-President Rajiv Shukla said.
"Keeping this in mind we are sending Lalchand Rajput as the assistant coach along with a bowling and fielding coach," he told a TV channel.
The team has been very successful under Rajput, lifting the Twenty20 World Cup and winning one-day series against Pakistan.
The team has also won the first Test at New Delhi and on the course of winning the second Test at Kolkata.
