Implement decisions of Science Conf: Talent search test announced

Scientists from different corners of India participated in the three-day Indian Science conference in the State capital. A consensus was reached to constitute Science Secretariate for better implementation of scientific activities and to give shape to the non-conventional concept of development. The conference arrived at a number of important decisions which need to be looked into and their benefits derived by honest implementation. It is matter of satisfaction that the current knowledge-science and art talents are being looked in consonance with modern science and technology. This would spur pace of development. However, in practice this is possible only when today's modern science is made available in regional languages. By introducing science and technology in traditional Indian systems of medicine, would further enhance its acceptability among the masses. In the current form it is not that popular. Adivasi communities have immense store of knowledge with them but its benefit could only be availed when it is kept on a modern platform. During the Science conference it came to the fore that if the available resources in the State were utilised in a scientific manner then better results would ensue. Science has lot of importance in agriculture, forest conservation, water conservation, bio-fuel and fighting malnutrition. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also announced a number of measures for promoting scientific education. Talent search exams, to be participated by one lakh students, would be organised. Thereafter scholarships would be given to 100 selected students.
