Chandni chowk for leisure & pleasure

Reading "Chandni Chowk destination for food lovers" (BT CC November 2, 2007), I remembered good olden days of Chandni Chowk in 50s -there was a tram in Chandni Chowk. Book Bazar of Daryaganj was at Jama Masjid. There was Majestic cinema -opposite Fountain -to watch Bollywood movies. Kabari Bazar also on Sundays at Jama Masjid. Sunday mornings-once a month- I used to spent at these Bazar. Then there was Vig Restaurant to eat Puri -Chholey. Also near Moti Talkies-opposite Lajpat Rai Market there was a shop of Japani Samosa and hot delicious puri -Chholey just for 50 paise! Last but not the least -old Delhi-Chandni Chowk was better known as "Sahar" (City). We used to wonder-Was New Delhi a village and not a "Sahar"?
