Polling teams for Sanwer by-poll

Indore, Nov 20: Amidst uncertainties over declaration of candidatures of the mainstream parties' official candidates, the district administration has started its electoral exercise. According to district collector Vivek Agrawal, as many as 205 polling teams have been constituted for Sanwer by-poll. A total of 1000 poll personnel will be deputed at as many as 187 polling booths for about 1.75 lakh electorates who will exercise their franchise for Sanwer by-poll slated for December 12 next month.

Agrawal informed that as per the voter list of January1, 2006, a total of 89,812 males and 85013 females will exercise their franchise for the by-poll to be held on December 12. In order to keep a complete vigil on the electoral process, 20 senior officials of various government departments have been vested responsibility. These officials besides inspecting polling booths will also keep an eye on officials engaged in polling works.

The first training camp of polling teams will be held at Ravindra Natya Grih on November 16. After by-poll on December 12, counting of votes will take place on December 15 at Nehru stadium. Voting will be done through electronic voting machines.Cleanliness of these machines was started from today. Though the district administration has already announced dates for the filing of nomination forms, so far no nomination paper has been filed. November 24 has been fixed as last date for the filing of nomination forms, collector said.
