Economy likely to sustain 10% growth 

Mumbai, Oct 22:
The Indian economy has sustained its growth and this is expected to continue in the medium term, despite concerns over higher inflation in future and high fund inflows, a top banking industry official said.
 
Sensex ends up 54pts

The Sensex opened with a huge negative gap of 300 points at 17,260, and dropped to a low of 17,171 in early trades.
 
'We're warding off a bubble in stocks' 

New York, Oct 22:
Finance minister Palaniappan Chidambaram reached out to foreign investors by stressing that the recent deluge of equity funds required some measures to ward off a stock market bubble, but the Indian government had no intention of inhibiting investors.
