Roger Federer wins four
in a row |
| Roger Federer has stamped his authority in the world of tennis by winning the US Open for the fourth consecutive time. Thus, Roger Federer claimed his 12th Grand Slam title which includes five Wimbledon and three Australian Open titles. Roger Federer becomes the first man since Bill Tilden in the 1920s to win the US Open four times in a row. Pete Sampras with 14 Grand Slam titles is followed by Roger Federer and Roy Emerson who have both won 12 Grand Slam titles. Rod Laver comes next with 11 Grand Slam titles to his credit.
