The corridors of St Joseph's Convent Senior Secondary School Idgah Hills once again wore a festive look and joy and excitement were visible on the faces of the students of class V, as they were eagerly waiting for their grand parents to arrive. The Grand Parent's Day was celebrated in the school with great enthusiasm on Friday. This novel idea was first conceived, many years back, by the Principal, Sr Francis Joseph to honour the grand parents, who form such an important link in the family chain. It has been celebrated every year, since then.
The programme began with the arrival of the chief guest SK Dhiwan, General Manager of Indian Oil Corporation, Madhya Pradesh. He was accompanied by Pawan Sareen, Area Manager of Indian Oil Corporation, Madhya Pradesh. In keeping with the tradition of St Joseph's the programme opened with a prayer dance, invoking God's blessings in all grand parents. The Principal welcomed the guests and emphasized the importance of grand parents in the family chain, as they strengthen the ties between all members of the family.
A Hindi ballet - Eternal memories was presented in which dances and songs moved the grand parents present to tears. The Chief Guest greatly appreciated the efforts of the school, Principal and students and complimented them on their noble objective. He felt honoured to be present at such a moving occasion.
The programme ended with a grand finale titled castle of Nostalgia in which grand parents were honoured, blessed and an appreciated for their loving presence. All grand parents expressed their deep emotion, joy and appreciation of the programme and the noble underlying thought behind such a beautiful, heart moving show.
