Rushdie death fatwa still stands 

Teheran, June 24:
Iran said on Sunday that a fatwa ordering the death of British writer Salman Rushdie issued by its revolutionary leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini still stands after his knighthood by the queen.

A memorial honouring the victims of the 1985 Kanishka bombing was unveiled on a serene waterfront in Toronto, more than two decades after the Air India plane was blown up in mid-air.
 
US votes to deny all aid to Saudi

The US House of Representatives has voted to deny all aid to Saudi Arabia, despite repeated assurances by the administration the desert kingdom was cooperating with the United States in the war on terror.
 
Iran, EU to continue N talks 

Lisbon, June 24:
Iran and the European Union have agreed to continue talks aimed at ending an impasse over Tehran's nuclear programme, according to Iran's chief nuclear negotiator Ali Larijani and EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana.
