2 of gang stealing valuables of rly passengers arrested

Bhopal : GRP police have arrested two members of a gang of Chennai involved in coming theft in long-distance trains and recovered booty worth Rs 20 lakh from them. The kingpin of the gang is yet to be arrested. GRP TI Hemant Shrivastava said two suspects were found travelling in Tamil Nadu Express.

When police searched them they recovered 120 mobile phones, eight laptops and two I-pads from them. Their value is estimated to be about Rs 20 lakh. During interrogation the accused revealed their identity as Munnu Swamy and Shrinas, residents of Andhra Pradesh. During sustained interrogation they revealed that they used to go to Delhi and steal electronic items on trains. The accused have admitted to committing two dozen thefts.
